Instagram's quiz sticker added another way for viewers to interact with Stories. The German original introduced it alongside existing tools such as questions, polls and the mood slider.
This is an adaptation of the original feature announcement. Availability and interface details may have changed since that publication.
What does the quiz sticker do?
The sticker lets a creator present a question with a selection of answers. In the version described, two to four answers could be supplied, and one was marked as correct.
Viewers answer within the Story and can see whether they selected the designated answer. The creator can review the responses and gain an overview of participation.
How the original workflow worked
Choose the quiz option from the sticker menu, enter a question and the possible answers, and select the answer the interface will treat as correct. Publish the Story and review the responses afterwards.
The original describes seeing responses associated with participating profiles, providing both individual and statistical feedback.
More than a trivia question
A quiz can entertain, test knowledge or encourage people to think about a subject. The article also discusses using multiple answers to explore preferences. When adapting a quiz tool for that purpose, be clear that a preference does not really have a right or wrong answer.
Giveaways are a separate use case with their own platform and legal requirements. The existence of an interactive sticker does not by itself make a promotion compliant.
Conclusion
The quiz sticker can give a community a quick, low-effort way to participate. Its value comes from a relevant question and thoughtful use of the answers, not merely from adding another interactive element to every Story.
